What is All-on-4®?

All-on-4 refers to a hybrid treatment that combines bridge and dental implants. All-on-4 is a full-arch teeth replacement system that relies on a fixed bridge system to replace both arches.

During your appointment at Mississippi Periodontics and Implants, Dr. Caskey places four dental implants in each tooth arch, two in the front and two in the back. These implants serve as stabilizers for the bridge.

Dr. Caskey takes three measures before starting the treatment:  

Diagnostic imaging

Dr. Caskey uses a Cone beam CT scanner to create a comprehensive 3D image of your jaw and the surrounding blood vessels, nerves, and muscles. This enables him to get a clear image of where the implants need to go.

Dental implant placement planning

With the 3D image of your mouth in hand, Dr. Caskey can discuss with you the best location in your jaw for the implant. This pre-planning phase is integral to identifying the areas of your mouth that offer the most stability for your restoration.

Surgical guide creation

The surgical guide is the final step before the placement of your dental implant. Think of the surgical guide as an outline for Dr. Caskey. It allows him to identify prospective issues and find solutions before the procedure takes place.

Once he’s gathered all the necessary pre-treatment information, Dr. Caskey has you schedule an appointment to place your implants.

During this appointment, he’ll place a temporary restoration while your jawbone fuses with the dental implants. When this is complete, he’ll attach a set of permanent dentures to your jaw.

How long will the recovery process take?
